Dear Grade 4’s,
In class we have had a lot of discussion about how words and actions affect us. We have looked at how positive words and actions lead to positive feelings and how negative words and actions lead to negative feelings. We have drawn upon our personal experiences and the experiences of characters in books we have read such as "ish" by Peter Reynolds and "Thank you Mr. Falker" by Patricia Pollacco. In our lives and in both books we have seen the power of words and actions. Can you think of any books you have read or are reading where the emotions of the characters were affected by the words and actions of others? Try to make a connection with the character and think of how you would feel if the same thing happened to you. Can’t wait to hear about what you are reading…

I would feel really bad and start to cry when i hurt my self.Someone pushed me in the floor then i started to cry beause i don t know why.
I've read a book called The Power Of One and the main character Amy had to make a science project for school but her brother kept breaking it so she gave up. The words were "You can do it and the actions were a hug and a pat on the back.If I was Amy I'dkeep trying and never ever give up.

happen 2 me. And i would tell an adult also.And one time i saw someone pushed somebody on the floor.

If i got hurt i would feel hurt and sad just like Trisha when she got hurt.If there was a bully that would bully me i would not know what to do because that bully would follow me also if that bully is in my class.The bully would follow me every where just to bully me and the bully would just bully me because i am different.
It is hard to think of one because I read to much! So it is very hard to think of one so I will make one up!
A boy named Nasik was a undercover agent that can not compplete missions. All the other Agents made fun of him. So one night, a agent master came and helped. They secretly went on missions. Agent Master gave him tips and pouinters. That was his action. His words are Great now fly back to HQ and you will get a badge from Base. He made it. He showed all the agents the badge and they started to ask him for tips. He was the 2nd best agent out from Agent Master
In my class we are reading a book by Helen Keller.It MADE me feel like I was blind and deaf.
I am reading a book called Super Fudge by : Judy Bloom.In the book Super Fudge , Peter and his brother
Fudge get a new baby sister.But because of the new baby sister his parents pay more attention to her and more people complement there new baby sister.If I were Fudge I would feel not loved and lonely.

Dear Ms.Panagopoulos,Ms.Duff read us a book called The Lemonade Club.It's about 2 girls who are friends.They have a teacher named Ms.Winchelmen who said ''If you can dream it,you can be it.''Those words changed the character's feelings.
In the Lemonade Club by Paticia Pollaco the teacher makes people happy by saying "If life gives you lemons... Make Lemonade."
I red a book called the tale of desperaux I am from ms duffs classt the main charecter was desperaux and he was in love with princess and there were evil rats and he got triced by a rat called cotted cheli but he was brave and he got through everything and the princess loved him.
I've read a book called Brigget Butt.There was a girl named Brigget Butt. Every body made fun of her by calling her butthead execpt Amanda. She told her who care's about what they call you.Amanda even tapped on brigget shoulder.That made her happy.

I read a magizine which was about wrestling.It was a really good magizine.I love wrestling.But it has a little violence.I would be mad if someone punched me.
